10 Golden Eagles Inducted into Phi Theta Kappa

OIL CITY, Pa. – Venango’s Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society inducted 10 members in a March 8 ceremony in Robert W. Rhoades Auditorium.

Dr. Emily Aubele, assistant director of Venango Campus, presented on the importance of introspection and nurturing the qualities of character that inspire and encourage others to achieve their dreams.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recognizes and encourages the academic achievement of two-year college students and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming. Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 3 million members and 1,285 chapters located in all 50 of the United States, U.S. territories, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Germany, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, United Arab Emirates, Peru, and Paulau. In 1929, the American Association of Community colleges recognized Phi Theta Kappa as the official honor society for two-year colleges.

Inductees are Alexandria Atkins, of Clarion; Lisa Bowser, of Knox; Cynthia Crate, of Summerville; Angela Remmick, of Sligo; Sheila Roos, of Seneca; Lisa Smith. of Franklin; and Haley Trapano of Oil City, all Associate of Science in Nursing majors; John Grove, of Franklin and Bobbie Mudgett, of Rouseville, Associate of Science in Business Administration majors; and Jay Stull, of Vowinckel, Associate of Science in Industrial Technology major.
