  • Matt Murray made 33 saves for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.
  • Frankie Hughes scored all 20 points of his points in the second half and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer, blocked a shot and grabbed a late rebound all in the final minute Wednesday night and Duquesne rallied from a 19-point halftime deficit to defeat Rhode Island 75-72.
  • Jeff Capel chuckled, but you could tell he really wasn’t in a joking mood.
  • Even while competing shorthanded this weekend, Penn State wrestling flexed its muscles and looked just about as dominant as ever. The Nittany Lions outscored Purdue and Indiana 65-19 during their road trip to the Hoosier State and seemed to have no problem running away with duals, even after a couple slow starts.
  • Kimbal Mackenzie and Avi Toomer scored 14 points apiece and combined for six of Bucknell’s eight made 3-pointers to lead the Bison men’s basketball team to a 69-57 home victory over Navy Wednesday evening at Sojka Pavilion.
