  • Duke threw an insurmountable mix of dunks, blocks and 3-point shots at Pitt on Tuesday night, racing to a 79-64 victory at sold-out Petersen Events Center.
  • Closer Mariano Rivera, designated hitter Edgar Martinez and starting pitchers Roy Halladay and Mike Mussina will be the newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rivera became the first player to be unanimously voted into the Hall, appearing on all 425 ballots.
  • There is quite a bit of hockey mythology surrounding the hot goaltender, the otherwise mortal netminder who magically finds a run of good form in the spring and carries it all the way through to a Stanley Cup parade in June.
  • Gavin Teasdale is once again leaving the Penn State wrestling program, but will not be returning this time around.
