FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Around 12:33 p.m. on October 15, Franklin Police Officers were dispatched to 111 Buffalo Street for a report of a suspected break-in at that location.

When officers arrived on the scene, signs of forced entry were discovered.

The resident was contacted and confirmed that no one should be inside the house, according to police.

Franklin officers, along with Sugarcreek Borough Police Department’s K-9 unit, made entry into the house.

Police say the threat of the K-9 being released allegedly forced the actor, 20-year-old Richard Alan Jones, Jr. , of Franklin, to surrender to police.

Jones was located in the basement of the house and was taken into custody without incident.

During a search, items belonging to the resident of the house were allegedly found hidden on Jones, police say.

Jones was taken to Franklin Police Department and later lodged at Venango County Jail on an order to detain issued by State Parole Agent J. Breath on October 16, 2014.

A felony arrest warrant was later obtained from Magistrate Snyder’s office, and the warrant was subsequently served on Jones while housed at Venango County Jail.

Jones was then arraigned before Magistrate Snyder on the following charges:

– one count of Burglary, Felony 1
– one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking, Misdemeanor 2

Following arraignment, Jones was committed to the Venango County Jail on $50,000.00 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 22 at 1:30 p.m.

Assisting in the case were Sugarcreek Police Department, Venango County Sheriff’s office, and State Parole.
