64th Annual Autumn Leaf Festival Underway

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion County’s Autumn Leaf Festival kicks off on Saturday, September 30.

The theme for this year’s festival, sponsored by the U.S. Army, is “Leaves of Blue and Gold: Celebrating Clarion University’s 150th Anniversary.”

Saturday evening’s kickoff event should not be missed with three very talented musical acts.

Legends, the popular Clarion-based band, will play from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Shippenville native Lauren Skelley, who recently won Franklin’s prestigious Taste of Talent competition, will sing a few patriotic songs.

Then, the 6 String Soldiers, previously known as the Volunteers, will take the stage from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

There will be several food vendors, including a new one selling various kinds of pierogies, a fall-food favorite.

There are a few other changes, too.

The Miss Teen and Miss Junior Teen ALF Scholarship will be held on Monday, October 2.

More than 500,000 people attend the internationally award-winning event.

Other featured events include carnival rides and amusements, the Autorama Cruise-in, the Tournament of Leaves parade, antique tractor show, Cultural Nights, and the popular Farmer’s and Crafter’s Show.

There are several events sponsored by the Clarion Chamber of Business and Industry.

The Bigfoot Country and Bayada Pediatrics and Home Health Kids’ Carnival and Advanced Disposal Touch-A-Truck will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Clarion Mall parking lot.

The PA State Old Time Fiddlers’ Contest will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church on Wood Street.

The Clarion Psychiatric Center Cornhole Tournament will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Six String Soldiers will perform at the Clarion Mall at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The Clarion County Community Bank Foodstock benefits all Clarion County food banks. Donors can bring non-perishable, non-expired food items to their favorite ALF events. The Tournament of Leaves Parade will be held on Saturday, October 7. The event will showcase marching bands, floats, and community organizations.

Reserved parade seats are $9.00 each. Tickets will be available for purchase Monday through Friday at the Clarion Chamber located at 650 Main Street. Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card. If paying with a credit card, there is an additional four percent fee.
