66-year-old Man Thrown 20 Feet in Route 62 Motorcycle Crash

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police responded to the scene of a motorcycle crash in Tionesta Township, Forest County, around 2:14 p.m. on August 21.

Police say Howard Blumenthal, 66, of Bradford, was traveling north on SR-62 on a 1976 BMW Motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle due to severe rain.

Police say Blumenthal’s motorcycle slid off the eastern side of the roadway and impacted a guide rail.

Blumenthal then fell off the motorcycle and traveled approximately 20 feet in a northern direction.

He was transported by Tionesta EMS to UMPC Northwest for treatment of moderate injuries.

According to police, Blumenthal was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
