OAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 69-year-old Polk woman was seriously injured following a one-vehicle crash in Oakland Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the crash occurred at 10:18 a.m. on June 8 when Patricia Espy 69, of Polk, lost control of her 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser while traveling at a high rate of speed along Route 8, just south of Kaneville Road.

Police say Espy’s vehicle exited the roadway and struck a guide rail before crashing into an embankment and rolling over.

According to police, Espy’s vehicle came to a final rest in the southbound lane, facing east, in the upright position.

Espy was freed from the vehicle by EMS. She was then transported to a landing zone and flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of major injuries.

There is no word on her current condition.
