82-Year-Old Escapes Injury in Early Morning Crash

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a one vehicle accident took place on Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County.

This crash occurred at 5:49 a.m. on May 28, 2015 as 82-year-old Norman Lee Couts of Strasburg, OH, was traveling east on the I-80 off-ramp at mile marker 35 when he failed to stop his 2007 Chevrolet Impala at the properly posted sign.

Couts traveled east through the intersection striking a guardrail.

The vehicle continued to travel east over an embankment coming to final rest facing east.

Couts was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt.

Police were assisted at the scene by Cliff Hovis Towing.
