8th Annual Fryburg Mayfest 5K Fun Run/Walk

The 8th Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk is Friday, May 26, 2017 at 7:00pm. The Mayfest race is in memory of Colleen Faller and all proceeds will go to the Washington Township Community Association Memorial Scholarship fund.

The race will start at Saint Michaels Church — State Route 208 in Fryburg, PA.

This race is on all black top and runs through the rolling hills of Marble and Fryburg.

It is quoted as being “One of the toughest races, but one of the most Fun!”

Local families cheer the runners every step of the way!

Smiley Miles is the timer for this race.

So, if you are up for the challenge or just want to walk it, gather your friends, send in your application and start preparing for a great race again this year!

About Colleen Faller
Colleen Faller, 41, passed away August 29, 2016 of a six-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born on June 14, 1975, to Jean Madden and the late Thomas McCormick. On July 2, 2005, she married the love of her life, Evan Faller. They have two beautiful daughters, Avery Rose and Rowan Kathleen.

Colleen cherished time with her family and loved nothing more than cooking a hearty meal, playing a game of cards and going for a boat ride. She lived a life of fierce determination, boundless love and abundant faith. Colleen had strong, lifelong friendships with many, who also served as her “prayer warriors” during her illness. She had a talent for mimicry and a quick wit, good-natured spirit.

About the Race
The event starts in front of the St. Michaels Church on Rt 208, travels down towards Marble to the old Marble Road (behind Montana’s Country Cafe`), turning around on that secondary road just past the parking lot (water station) and then traveling back the same way up past the church.

Continue up to the old Fryburg Road, turning left, pass the Fryburg Car Wash to a point you then turn around (water station) and travel the same route back to the finish line at the entrance to the church parking lot on the left of the highway.
