CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A 93-year-old Oil City woman was killed around 2:07 p.m. today in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 62, at its intersection with State Route 157, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 93-year-old Viola A. Johnston, of Oil City, and 56-year-old Joyce A. Eismont, also of Oil City, were involved in the accident.

Police say Johnston proceeded through the intersection in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu without clearance after stopping at the stop sign at the intersection of SR 157 and SR 62.

The Chevrolet Malibu was struck on the driver’s side by a 2005 GMC Sierra driven by Eismont.

Police say Johnston was killed in the collision.

Eismont was using a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.
