ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An accident late Tuesday evening on Coal City Road sent a local woman to the hospital and knocked out power in Rockland Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police said the accident happened around 10:45 p.m. on Coal City Road just east of Pine Hill Cemetery Road.

Christina Beers, 53, of Kennerdell, was traveling west when she failed to negotiate a slight right curve.

Beers’ 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe exited the roadway and crashed into a ditch before rolling over at least two times. It then struck a utility pole guide wire which caused the utility pole to break and fall to the ground.

The vehicle came to a final rest on its tires approximately 20 feet off the left side of Coal City Road.

Community Ambulance Service transported Beers to Grove City Medical Center where she was treated for injuries of an unknown severity.

The downed utility pole resulted in an electrical outage within Rockland Township.

Rockland Township Volunteer Fire Department and Central Electric Cooperative also assisted at the scene.
