Adagio Health Seneca to Drop Prenatal Services

| April 11, 2017

UnknownSENECA, Pa. (EYT) – Adagio Health Seneca in Venango County will no longer offer prenatal care beginning June 1.

According to a press release from Adagio, the high demand of prenatal services in the region combined with a shortage of obstetricians has resulted in the elimination of the center’s prenatal care program.

“As need for prenatal care in our area continues to increase, the obstetricians who were serving our Adagio Health Seneca location no longer have the bandwidth to staff our office,” Kathy Risko, chief of external affairs, Adagio Health said. “However, our doors are still open to those in our community who need medical assistance.”

Adagio will continue to serve more than 500 women in the area that come to them in need of gynecological care each month.

However, the location will continue serving patients for other needs and is offering patient referrals to prenatal care facilities in the area.

Adagio Health Seneca will continue to provide complete gynecological care including annual exams, a wide range of birth control options, and STI testing and treatment.

The clinic also offers Cancer Screening for breast and cervical cancer – clinical breast exams, breast self-awareness education, mammograms, Pap tests, HPV testing, and diagnostic testing as needed, along with a variety of services for men.

“Our Adagio Health Seneca clinic currently serves 504 patients in the area,” said Risko. “We hope to reach even more members of our community and continue offering health assistance to those who seek it.”

Current prenatal/OB patients at Adagio Health Seneca can transition to the Adagio Health Clarion location. Magee-Womens Specialty Clinic in Franklin or Clarion are also available for prenatal care.
