Aldine Laura (Park) Snyder age 91, a guest at the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, PA formerly of Toad Town Rd, Summerville, PA passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017.

She was born August 27, 1925 in Brookville, the daughter of Humbert E. Park Sr. & Anna R. (Brocious) Park.

At a young age they moved to the family farm off Rte. 36 in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

She was a farm girl, and later was employed with Sylvania, and then the G.C. Murphy store in Brookville.

She met her future husband, John F. Snyder (who passed away on July 18, 2008) at the former Pilgrim Holiness Church in Brookville where she was the pianist, and he was the Sunday School Superintendent. They were married on Sept 4, 1963 at the Strattanville Pilgrim Church. They were married nearly 45 years.

Aldine was a member of the Pleasant Hill Bible Church in Summerville, PA and a devoted Christian, being an avid student of Bible Prophecy. She attended the Crate School in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA and was a graduate of the Brookville Area High School Class of 1942, completing her education in 11 years.

She took piano lessons in her youth from Mrs. Harry Shick SR, and played piano at the Nazarene and Pilgrim Holiness Churches in Brookville, and later occasionally at Pleasant Hill Bible Church in Summerville. She played piano for several weddings.

She also played the guitar and harmonica, enjoyed family car trips to several states in her youth, gardening, and canning food. She enjoyed completing word find puzzles, and unknown to many, enjoyed watching auto racing.

Aldine is survived by one son Kevin (Kimberlee Shaffer) Snyder of Du Bois, PA, her sister Marie Cochran of Brookville, PA and her brother Allan Park of Brookville, PA, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Sharon Snyder Shaffer, one infant sister Maxine Park, and one brother Humbert E. Park Jr.

Aldine’s family will receive friends at the Peterson Funeral Home, 153 Jefferson St. Brookville, PA 15825 on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11 AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Lee Jr. officiating.

Interment will be at the St John,s Cemetery (Windy Hill) in Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

Arrangements are under the care of the Peterson Funeral Home, Brookville PA.
