Lee was born on Valentine’s Day in the year 1929, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, to her parents, the late Herbert Manson (“Beanie”), and Hortense Peterson Manson. She grew up in Franklin, PA. Lee graduated from State Teacher’s College in Indiana, PA, where she met Ed on a blind date. Ed was a West Point graduate, and Army officer. They married, and Lee served our country as an Army wife. She and Ed moved frequently, sometimes every year, serving the country at domestic and foreign Army bases. The had four children in ten years, which kept Lee busy. Ed was stationed at the Pentagon in 1968, and they remained in Northern Virginia even after Ed retired in 1976. Ed and Lee ultimately moved from Alexandria, Virginia, to Davie, Florida, in 1990, where they lived for 25 years. Ed and Lee moved to Colorado in August, 2015, to be closer to family.

Lee was dedicated to her family, and will be greatly missed by those who love her so much. Lee will be laid to rest with Ed at Arlington National Ceremony at a time that will be decided at a later date.
