What is your favorite thing about being in the military?

I don’t have one favorite thing. Between the soldiers I meet and the job I do for my unit, I enjoy getting up and going to work every day. I have met many different soldiers from all over the country.

What inspires you to be in the military?

I wanted to join the Army since before I was even in high school. My goal was always active duty, but I had a friend that talked me into the National Guard. In 2005, I became active duty National Guard. This gave me the active duty status I wanted but allowed me to remain at home with my family and raise our children.

What is your most memorable moment in the military?

Germany was probably my most memorable moment because we had the ability to tour some of the country while we were stationed there. I got to see places that I would have never been able to. But – ultimately, I have many memories.

Family Life?

If it wasn’t for my family, this job would be next to impossible for me. I do a lot of traveling, whether it is for schools or picking up equipment. My husband is outstanding at understanding my job and helping me to be as successful as I am. I have 2 children, 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. I have been traveling since they were babies, so they are use to me coming and going. The traveling does not make things easy, but between my parents and my husband and his family, it makes it possible for me enjoy my job.
