Alma “Margie” Beach

Alma “Margie” Beach, 91 of Polk, passed away the morning of January 22, 2019 at the Grove at Greenville.

Margie was born on March 20, 1927 in Oakland, CA, to the late Ross Edgar Scofield and Beulah J. Rhodes.

Margie was a member of the New Lebanon Community Church and was a member of the women’s club there.

She enjoyed Gospel music, especially when performed by the Keeling’s. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling, and most of all fishing.

Margie married her beloved husband, Alvin Beach, on March 20, 2009, he survives at home.

She is also survived by her children, Joy (Roy) Gastelom, Napa, CA, Bobby Bartleson, Price, UT, Rolene Bartleson, Vellejo, CA, Leele (Vern) Meats, Napa, CA, Glendale Meats, Napa, CA, Chris Burtleson, Sacremento, CA, Ron Metzgar, Grove City, and Mark Galipeau, Napa, CA, step-children Diane (Denton) Baker, Polk, Melissa Beach, Grove City, Dave (Linda) Beach, Polk, and Thomas Beach and friend Peggy, Polk, 10 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 9 step great-grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

Funeral arrangments have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4-7 pm on Thursday, January 24 and 10-11 am on Friday, January 25.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on Friday, January 25, with the Reverend Virginia Lavan-Gadsby, Pastor of New Lebanon Community Church, officiating.

Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
