Alta Rose Buzard, 84, Burns Farm Road, Sligo, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo, PA.

Born January 28, 1928, in Mason, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Flossie Bushue of Rankin, Illinois.

Alta attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Bloomington, Illinois when she met her future husband. She was married March 7, 1948 at Chanute Air Force Base to Corporal Gordon “Keith” Buzard, who preceded her in death on October 27,1997.

Alta was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Rimersburg. She and her husband raised their large family on their small Mt. Airy farm in Toby Township. She was interested in genealogy and was cited as a contributer for both the Buzard and Bushue family genealogy books. She was also very proud that she never missed an opportunity to vote in an election.

She is survived by her eleven children, Aleta Keck and her husband, Robert, of Littlestown; Gordan “Kent” Buzard and his wife, Sandy, of Brockport; Gregory Buzard and his wife, Michele, of Middletown, MD; Corinne Dixon and her husband John, of Beaverdam, VA; Todd Buzard and his wife, Janie, of Mechanicsburg; Rodney and his wife, Lori, of Frogtown; Tye Rose Mullikin and her husband, Charles, of Hyattsville, MD; Brent Buzard and his wife, Nancy, of Seattle, Washington; Eric Buzard and his wife, Dawn, of Sligo; Wydell Buzard of Sligo; and Wayland Buzard and his wife, Lisa, of Harrisville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and three great-great granddaughters.

Also surviving is a brother, Richard Bushue and his wife, Ruby, of Rankin, Illinois.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Timothy A. and Anthony B. Buzard; one sister, Sylvia Custer, five brothers, Clyde, Ferdie, Delbert, Gary and Carl Bushue; two grandchildren, Christina Buzard Delia and Michael Todd Buzard.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Limestone Firehall and all are welcome to attend. The location has not yet been determined.
