Ambar Raelle Burdette Kifer

| November 2, 2017

Ambar Raelle Burdette Kifer, age 40, of Williamsport, Maryland, peacefully passed on to be with Jesus on October 30, 2017, at Doey’s Hospice House in Hagerstown, MD, having endured a courageous battle with cancer this past year.

Ambar, the daughter of Ralph and Helen Burdette of Dickerson, Maryland, was born April 6, 1977. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Kifer, and daughter, Rhyan Kifer.

Ambar was a graduate of Frederick Christian Academy, class of ‘95.

She was a dedicated employee of Communications Supply Company for 16 years.

And though she never wanted to be in the spotlight, she was a devoted driving force behind Rhyan’s beloved Hagerstown Bulldogs Ice Hockey Club for several years, even throughout her early diagnosis.

She spent most of her weekends in furry boots bringing energy to Rhyan’s games through her motivating playlists.

Her calm spirit and gentle soul touched so many families and friends; more than she ever realized.

She leaves to mourn, mother-in-law Pat Kifer of Pennsylvania, father-in-law Edward Kifer (Denise) of Pennsylvania, sisters Diann Webb (Billy), Melissa LeClair (Frank), Kelle Yingling, Gabriel Grubb (Lonnie), Soni Burdette, Jessica Burdette, Crystal Athey (Troy), Jackie Zeigler (AJ), brother Gene Burdette (Karen), foster sisters Rachel Bradley and Anna Osborne, foster brother Billy Carlin, brothers-in-law Matt Kifer (Paula) and Brad Kifer (Michelle).

She also leaves her grandmothers, Margaret Burdette and Leila Spahr, her special friends Dave and Amby Briscoe, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, foster siblings, coworkers, and friends, as well as her sweet, sweet furbabies, Deuce and Rosco.

Ambar was predeceased by her mother, Taliah Burdette, grandfathers Raymond Burdette, William Spahr, Clarence King, and grandmother Myrtle King.

Ambar’s family would like to express gratitude to the all of her kind doctor’s and nurses at Meritus Medical Center, as well as the caring staff at Doey’s House for their knowledge, comfort, and support these past few weeks.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713 from 2:00-3:00 with an on-site funeral service at 3:00.

Friends and family are then welcome to join in a fellowship to follow the service.

Expressions of sympathy can be offered to the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ambar’s name can be made to the Patty Pollatos Fund https://www.ppfinc.org/ and Doey’s Hospice House https://hospiceofwc.org/doeys-house/.
