Kimmell, the head cheer and dance coach at Thiel, was presented the award at an April 21 ceremony.

“I’m honored yet humbled to be the first female coach in Thiel College history to receive this award,” Kimmel said. “It’s a privilege to work at an institution such as Thiel College that has a tradition of excellence in academics and athletics. I only hope to improve my coaching and teaching performance for many years to come. Go Tomcats!”

Kimmell was nominated for the award by the Thiel College National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) after the advisers of the Thiel College Chapter, Jared Johnson, P.hd. and Chris Cianci, asked members to nominate a person who embodies the Society mission and consistently demonstrates leadership qualities in a personal and professional capacity.

According to a news release from the school, Kimmel was heartily recommended by students as someone that met this distinction.

Kimmel is currently in the process of continuing to build both the Cheer and Dance programs at Thiel and is looking to recruit female and male athletes who want to be apart of a competitive program.
