Amelia Jane DomresAmelia “Jane” (Barr) Domres, age 85, of Western Ave., in Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017, as a resident of the McKinley Health Center in Brookville, PA.

Jane was born on March 31, 1931, to the late Clayton M. and Lydia (Wilson) Barr.

Her family resided in Hazen, PA, and she spent all of her life there until 1987.

She attended the Warsaw Township School until she was old enough to attend Brookville High School, from which she graduated with the class of 1949.

In September of 1952, she married Robert W. Domres at her parent’s home in Hazen, PA. Robert preceded her in passing on March 23, 1987.

She had an extensive work history that began at Sylvania in Brookville, PA. She was with them until they closed and at that time she began employment with Fairbrook. The last move she made was to the Jefferson County Courthouse, and she stayed employed there until she retired.

Jane was a lifelong member of the Hazen United Methodist Church.

She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Roseville Grange, and the Heritage House.

She liked taking trips with the Brookville seniors and building the friendships that she had with them. Jane “never met a stranger”, a trait that she picked up from her mother and father.

She loved life, and she especially looked forward to a good laugh. She was caring and sharing with everyone but her main concern was with her family, especially her two sons.
