Ann L. Umpleby, 80, of Tionesta Avenue, formerly of Janeway Street, Kane, died early Monday afternoon, March 19, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born November 10, 1937, in Degolia, she was the daughter of Albert and Maxine Knight Wilson. On August 9, 1958, in Smethport, She married Elton Umpleby, who died March 17, 1994.

Ann was a supervisor in housekeeping and laundry at the Lutheran Home at Kane for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the F.O. Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, both in Kane, and enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Nicholas) Cook of Wise, Va. and Julie Sandlin of Kane; two sons, Donald (Bonnie) Umpleby of Weldbank and Roger (Allie) Umpleby of Kane; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by brothers Richard Wilson and Jon Wilson plus a brother in infancy; a granddaughter Jenna Hollabaugh and a son-in-law John Sandlin II.

Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. Martin Reynolds, pastor of the Clarendon, Tiona and Stoneham United Methodist Churches, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
