Anna J DickAnna J. Dick, formerly of Mineral Township, Stoneboro, passed away peacefully at 2:18 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, after a period of failing health. She was 94.

Born Aug. 26, 1922, in Worth Township, she was a daughter of Ellis and Margaret E. Boyd Wheeler.

Mrs. Dick was a 1941 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School.

She had worked at the Lakeview School District as a custodian from 1977 to 1987.

Most of all she was a homemaker and loved raising her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a longtime active member of the Hendersonville United Methodist Church and as an avid quilter always loved to quilt at the church, help with dinners and many other church activities.

Anna had the gift of hospitality and welcomed company into her home with good food and conversation, and always saying upon their departure, “Come back when you can stay longer.”

She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.

Her husband, Howard L. Dick, whom she married July 3, 1942, preceded her in death May 17, 1977.

Survivors include: a daughter, Faye E. Woods and her husband, Walter, of Stoneboro; two sons, Howard E. Dick and his wife, Patricia, of Emlenton, and Brian L. Dick and his wife, Kimberly, of Stoneboro; a daughter-in-law, Doreen “Dorie” Dick of Sandy Lake; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Delsie Leighty of Mercer; and a brother, William L. “Lewie” Wheeler.

In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Gary B. Dick; two sisters, Alice Nosker and Imogene Millsop; a brother, Clyde Wheeler; and a sister-in-law, Marian Wheeler, preceded her in death.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St. in Stoneboro.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet R. Pratt, pastor, Methodists United In Faith, officiating.

Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
