Anna Mae WagerAnna Mae “Tootie” (Miller) Wagner, age 90, of Brookville, PA, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 23, 2017, as a patient of Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.

Formerly she lived on Pine Street in Brookville, and most recently, she was a long time resident of the McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Tootie was born on October 7, 1926, in Toby Twp., Clarion Co., PA, daughter of the late Earl and Willa Mae (Ferringer) Miller.

She was married to Oscar Wagner who preceded her in passing on February 19, 1998.

Tootie was a lifelong waitress and server; and was always passionate about her profession.

She loved being around people and talked constantly about the friends she made over the years.

Bill Wolfe, was a very close friend and companion, they were always together and you could find them sitting in their special lounge or outside in front of the health center.

Some of the restaurants she worked at were the Modern Diner in Clarion, a Denny’s in California state, the Gold Eagle, Holiday Inn, Howard Johnsons, Eagles Club all in Brookville, the Blue Top, and many more.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brookville, PA, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983 in Brookville, PA.

Tootie loved playing Bingo and would frequent the hair salon.

She loved life in general which made it easy for her to be a wonderful cook and housekeeper.

She enjoyed traveling, especially when Oscar was with her and road trips were her favorite.

Those who knew Tootie will remember her feisty nature and beautiful outlook on life.

Tootie is survived by 1 daughter; Betty J. Mumford of Brookville, PA; 4 sons; William A. (Phyllis) Rhoades of Charlotte, MI; Dennis L. Rhoades of Brookville, PA; Richard B. (Belinda) Rhoades of Strattanville, PA; Woodrow (Linda) Rhoades of Elkridge, MD; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Tootie is preceded in death by 1 brother; Gene “Coonie” Miller; and 1 great-granddaughter; Mikayla Rhoades.

All of Tootie’s arrangements are being kept private to her family and have been entrusted to the care of the McKinney — d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, on Main Street in Brookville, PA.

Interment will take place at the Butler Cemetery, Pine Creek Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
