Anthony Ginnery

Anthony Ginnery, 70, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.

His wife Mary Anne was at his side.

Born in Oil City on July 2, 1948, he was the eldest son of Clarence and Eleanor Jasielski Ginnery.

After graduating from Oil City High School in 1966, Tony entered the United States Air Force and served his country honorably as a member of the military police.

On June 11, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart Martha Talley. Their marriage lasted 47 years until her death in 2013. He married his second wife Mary Anne Wilkinson on October 21, 2016. She survives.

Tony had a huge sense of humor and a big heart, enjoying many good times with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed camping at the Meadville KOA and time spent with his Franklin retiree friends. He spent a lifetime watching John Wayne movies and westerns. He loved to make babies smile and little ones laugh.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Tony L. “Butch” Ginnery and wife Candie of Tionesta; his seven grandchildren, Tyler Clark and wife Alysha of Hydetown, Hilary Silvis of Fryburg, Jasmine Ginnery and Destiny Ginnery both of Tionesta, Tamra Hosseini of Rouseville, Shelbi Westlake of New York City, and Dakotah Westlake of Oil City.

Also surviving are his seven great-grandchildren, Delilah Hosseini, Abbi, Amiya, Treyson, and Taelon Clark, Aubrey Silvis, and Caleb Work.

His brothers Clarence “Smiley” Ginnery and Samuel Ginnery also survive.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Martha Talley, and two daughters, infant Tammy Ginnery and Tracii Jo Westlake.

Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at a later date.
