Ardelle Delp, 92, a resident of Jefferson Manor, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.

He was born on July 29, 1925, in Porter Twp. on his family farm. The son of the late Grover C. and Estella Brinker Delp.

Ardelle was married on November 2, 1949, to Phyllis Thompson, who survives.

He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Ardelle was a Sargent in the Army and served in Korea from April 1946 to October 1947.

He was a farmer all of his life, working at Harriger Auto Body in Sligo and painted houses and barns; he was a jack of all trades.

Ardelle enjoyed working on cars and machinery.

He is survived by his wife and children; Darlene Larson of Sligo, Duane Delp and wife Deanna of New Bethlehem, Bonnie Brocious and husband Tom of Fairmount City, Gary Delp and wife Tammy of New Bethlehem and Gwendolyn Dolby of Clarion. Eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother in law, Russell Grubb of Palmyra.

Ardelle is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Grubb.

At the family’s request, funeral services will be held privately at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Scanlon pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion officiating.

Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #066 Honor Guard of Clarion.

Interment will take place at the Leatherwood Cemetery.
