VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. — Venango County’s unemployment number increased from 7.9% to 8.1% in the month of April.

The jobless figure for surrounding areas for April are as follows:

Forest County — from 9.6% to 9.7%

Clarion County — from 7.7% to 8.5%

Crawford County — from 7.2% to 7.7%

Warren County — from 6.3% to 6.6%

Mercer County — from 8.5% to 8.4%

The state’s unemployment rate for April is 7.6%, and the nation’s unemployment rate is 7.5%.
