Arlene E. Driscoll

Arlene E. Driscoll, 98, of Oil City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 20, 1920, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late James and Stina Glover Dempsey.

Alrene was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She loved music, and in her younger years, she spent almost 10 years traveling around singing with the Sweet Adelines.

Arlene adored her family. She was always at her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, cheering them on.

She was married in 1942 to Daniel J. Driscoll, and they shared 72 years of marriage together until Daniel’s death on October 20, 2014.

Surviving are two children, Marlene Michael and husband Gary of Franklin, and John Driscoll and wife Patricia of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Kimberly Woods and Dawn Kriek of Franklin, William Woods and Janelle Fumerola of Grove City, Amy Seigworth and Matthew of Oil City, Daniel Joseph Driscoll II and Anais Ning of Dallas, TX, and Lindsey Ann Cartwright and Andrew of Memphis, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie Woods of Grove City, Shawn Woods of Grove City, and Jenna Seigworth of Oil City.

Also surviving is a niece, Linda Kelley of Westfield, NY.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Kelley and her husband, Rexford.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 9, with a funeral service following in the funeral home beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
