Audrey ShakleyAudrey J. Shakley, 90, of Frogtown, Rt. 268, East Brady, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., passed away early Thursday morning, March 9, 2017 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.

Audrey was born in Pittsburgh on June 22, 1926.

She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine Tripplet Yeager.

She was a graduate of Brentwood High School and was employed for many as a secretary and dispatcher at Penreco in Karns City.

She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora and was a long time Sunday School teacher at the former St. Paul Lutheran and later at Holy Trinity.

She had been active at the Chicora Senior Center and had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Audrey enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and horseback riding.

Audrey was married in 1971 to Samuel Shakley. Mr. Shakley preceded her in death in 2004.

Audrey is survived by two sons, Bruce W. Peters, of Manassas, VA and Keith D. Peters and his wife, Janet, of East Brady; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bromley and her husband, Chris, and Kelly Peters, all of Dunedin, FL, Jaimie Osan and her husband, Pete, of Pittsburgh, Shane Peters and Joshua Peters of East Brady; two great grandsons, Jonathan and Jacob; a brother, David Yeager and his wife, Jeanne, of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 2- 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Rd., Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph J. Boomhower, church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at St. Luke Cemetery, Cabot.

Memorial contributions in Audrey’s name may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, to help care for Elizabeth and Ethan, at 2217 Chicora Rd., Chicora, PA 16025.
