Audrey Montgomery

| June 26, 2018

On June 24, 2018, Audrey Montgomery, aka “Mom”, “Gramma”, “great-Gramma”, and “Aunt Audrey” to many, was welcomed with open arms in Heaven by all who loved her and was waiting for her there.

She was born the beloved daughter of the late Vergil and Katherine (Baker) Hines on November 10th, 1937.

She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1955. She then was employed by the Manifold where she met her loving husband, Ed Montgomery of 54 years.

Audrey was loved by so many because she was the most kind, patient, giving, sharing, and loving person you would ever want to meet. She was always there to lend a hand, cook a meal, or just to visit. She adored her three grandchildren, Cody, Colton, and Brittney; she helped in many ways to raise them, as they were her world. She was blessed with her first great-granddaughter, Korie, in February 2017, to which she was very proud.

She loved to do yard work, crochet, cook, and bake and gave away almost everything she made to others.

Audrey was married on February 19, 1959, to Ed Montgomery, who preceded her in death on December 16, 2013.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Montgomery and her fiance, Paul Gierlach, with whom Audrey spoke with daily, and now those phone calls and visits are already being missed; her three grandchildren who miss her dearly, Cody Roxberry and his wife, Michelle, Colton Turnipseed and his fiance, Miranda Weaver, and Brittney Turnipseed and her significant other, Andrew Johnson.

She will be missed by her surviving siblings, John Hines and his wife, Bonnie of Franklin, Joan Cureton and her husband, Charles of Canton, OH, Jim Hines and his wife, Brenda of Fort Wayne, IN; her brother-in-law, Stanley Montgomery and his wife, Maxine of Franklin; and a very long list of many special nieces and nephews.

Audrey is further survived by her great-granddaughter, Korie Mikayla Roxberry; her numerous adopted grandchildren, Dan Keller and his wife, Judy, and Rachel Weaver; her special friend, Bob Moore; her longtime family friends, Willie Phillips and his wife, Karen; and her neighbors, Bud and Karen Kennedy.

Along with her beloved parents and loving husband, Audrey is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Consla, who preceded her only 20 days earlier, and Twila Lowry.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at the Franklin Church of the Nazarene on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dave Smith, pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment will be held at Graham Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, 393 Pone Lane, Franklin, 16323
