Authorities Apprehend Franklin Man Wanted on Child Rape Charges

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Authorities say a Franklin man accused of raping a young girl is behind bars.

Franklin-based State Police filed the following charges against 36-year-old Benjamin James Servin on Monday:

  • Rape of Child, Felony 1
  • Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 Years Older, Felony 1
  • Involutary Deviate Sexual Intercourse W/Child, Felony 1
  • Aggravated Indecent Assault of Child, Felony 1
  • Unlawful Contact With Minor — Sexual Offenses, Felony 1
  • Sexual Assault, Felony 2
  • Incest of Minor — Complainant Under 13 Years, Felony 2
  • Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
  • Indecent Assault Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1

Servin is accused of having vaginal and anal contact with a female who is under the age of thirteen.

According to a criminal complaint filed Monday by Tpr. Haun, a known female witnessed Servin having sexual contact with a juvenile female on July 22.

When the woman confronted Servin, he allegedly stated, “It’s not what you think you see.”

The woman then called 911, and Franklin-based State Police arrived on scene a short time later.

Upon police arrival, Servin fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Servin was apprehended on Sunday and placed in the Venango County Jail. Bail was denied due to the nature of the crimes.

He faces a preliminary hearing on August 2 at 8:30 a.m. with Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish presiding.
