Authorities Searching for Driver in Hit-and-Run Amish Buggy Crash

VENUS, Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Franklin are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday evening on State Route 157 in the Venus area.

Franklin-based State Police Tpr. Cirell says the accident happened around 8:35 p.m. when a red station wagon or SUV struck an Amish buggy and fled toward Fryburg.

Both the car and the Amish buggy were traveling east at the time of the accident.

The vehicle that fled the scene is missing its passenger side rear-view mirror.

Four juveniles and three adults were riding in the Amish buggy at the time of the accident.

No one was seriously injured, according to Tpr. Cirell.
