Authorities Continue Search for Oil City Man Wanted on Felony Burglary, Theft Charges

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities continue to search for an Oil City man wanted on felony burglary charges.

Franklin-based State Police are searching for Tyler John Reed, age 27, last known addresses Oil City.

Online court records show that the following charges have been filed against Reed at District Magistrate Patrick E. Lowrey’s Office:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

Investigators list the offense date as May 25, 2015.

Specific information on the case has not yet been released.

Eye-witnesses reported several State Police troopers canvassing neighborhoods in the Oil City and Seneca areas Wednesday around 7:30 p.m.

Two State Police helicopters were used to search the area.

Apprehension attempts in Oil City were unsuccessful.

A representative with Franklin-based State Police declined to comment; however, he did state that he had no information on the suspect being armed.

As of 10:12 a.m. Thursday, Franklin-based State Police told exploreVenango.com that Reed was still at large.
