Barbara A MastersonBarbara A. Masterson, 88, of Franklin, passed away at 12:05 a.m., Friday, February 3rd at Sugar Creek Station, where she had resided for the past six years.

Born in Franklin on November 9, 1928, Barbara was the daughter of the late Charles and Vera Martin Brown.

She was married to Gene E. Masterson, who preceded her in death. Barbara retired from the Franklin Medical Surgical Group after working as Bookkeeper for 22 years.

She was a member of the Congress Hill Church of God.

She is survived by her two sons, Gene E. Masterson, Jr., and his wife, Sally of Port Orange, FL, and W. Bart Masterson and his wife, Theresa, of Franklin; her two daughters, Christine A. McClelland of McClean, VA, and Wendy L. Paquette, and her husband, Ric, of Carrolton, VA; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She is additionally survived by her two sisters, June Anderson and her husband, Bob, of Franklin, and Janice Guilinger and her husband, Bud, of Polk.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Charles Oliver Masterson; her sister, Donna Peterson; her son-in-law, Irvin McClelland; and her twin brother, Richard Brown.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family.

The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin, has be entrusted with arrangements.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Barbara’s memory to the Visiting Nurses Foundation — 491 Allegheny Avenue, Franklin PA 16323.
