Barbara JohnsonBarbara Jean Johnson, 66, of Clarion, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.

She passed away after 9 ½ years of battling cancer.

She was born on March 17, 1950 in Beaver Township; daughter of the late Arthur Robert and Thelma Marie Theiss Dehner.

She graduated from Clarion Limestone in 1969.

Barb was married on July 2, 1971 to Larry Johnson, and he survives.

They would have celebrated their 46th Anniversary this July.

She worked at the old Sears in Clarion, Jamesway, Farmers Market, Clarion Homes Trailer Plant, Service Master, and Staples, where she worked for 9 years before receiving Cancer in 2007. She also helped manage the business side of Johnson’s Backhoe Services for many years.

Barb was involved in Girl Scouts when her daughters were younger and was an active member of the Strattanville United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed flower gardening, her cats, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her husband, two daughters, Tammy Himes and her fiancé Larry Rihn of Emlenton and Tracy McGinnis of Strattanville, her nine grandchildren, Larry McGinnis, Kelly Wick, Austin Wick, Samantha McGinnis, Brooke Rihn, Cheyann Briggs, Emily Bolles, Taylore Rihn, and Amanda Dashner and her husband John.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Larry Dehner and his wife Rose Marie of Knox and Lynn Dehner and his wife Nellie of Corsica, her sister, Rose Delp of Clarion, and several nieces and nephews.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Terry Dehner, and a brother-in-law, Art Delp.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Zahn, pastor of the Strattanville United Methodist Church.
