Barbara Jean WingerBarbara Jean Winger, 86, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at The Caring Place in Franklin, where she had been a resident.

Born May 22, 1930 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Frank Howard and Martha Crispen Rankin.

Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Oil City High School. She was previously employed as a janitor at the former Lincoln Elementary School.

Barbara was a member of Calvary Temple in Oil City. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, reading the Bible and spending time with her children, and grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons: Dennis Winger and his wife Florence of Oil City, Robert Winger and his wife Peggy of Lewisville, TX and James Winger of Oil City; two daughters: Patricia Winger and companion Peg and Sandra King and her husband, Mark, all of Oil City; four grandchildren Brooke Calloway, Rachel Conley, Shannon Ochs and John Wertz and five great grandchildren Carter and Reagan Calloway, Lucas Ochs, Madeline and John Wertz.

Also surviving is a sister Marsha Mitchell and her husband Cary of Oil City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Edward Rankin, three sisters Jacqueline Taucher, Beverly Waclawski and Dorothy Clark, and a son-in-law John Wertz, Sr.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
