Barbara AndertonBarbara L Anderton, 65, formerly from Oil City, mother, partner, sister, aunt, and best friend lost her battle with cancer on March 28, 2017.

Born on July 12, 1951 in Oil City to George and Mary Patricia Stubler Anderton. She was the oldest of 8 siblings.

Barb attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated VCHS 1969 before matriculating to Edinboro University.

She worked many years in the insurance industry and lived in Oakland, CA., Moraga, CA, Davis CA, Sacramento CA., and most recently retired to Missoula Montana with the love of her life, Steve Timmons.

Barb raised 3 wonderful children, Julia Sauceda, 37, an insurance executive from NYC. Julia and husband, Juan, are currently looking forward to the birth of their first son who will be named Ollie. Jon Anthony Uyeyama, 35, an insurance executive from Walnut Creek, CA, and Meredith Uyeyama, 27, a graphic art designer from Sacramento CA.

In addition to her business career, Barb enjoyed art and was masterful in her paintings, looking forward to many years of painting in the loft of her recently completed home in Missoula Montana.

During midlife, she spent her free hours traveling around this country and the world metal detecting with her sister Patty and her beau Steve.

She was an instant friend with all those she came in contact with and will be sorely missed by her many Northern CA girlfriends, siblings George Anderton (Miami FL), Cathy Francisco(Pinellas Park FL, Peter Anderton (Oil City, PA), Thom Anderton (Tionesta PA, Patty Gosney (Pinole, CA), Joe Anderton (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Sue Jolley (Hope Mills NC).

There will be a memorial at the family’s cottage in Henry’s Bend, PA this summer.
