FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Beer and wine are now available at the Sheetz location on Liberty Street in Franklin.

Sheetz, which operates over 580 store locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina, recently announced beer sales at thirty additional stores in Pennsylvania, including the store located at 1107 Liberty Street in Franklin.

According to a press release, the company now operates a total of 138 locations that sell beer.

The Franklin City Council approved the transfer of the liquor license, which the company purchased from a third-party, from Oil City to the Franklin Sheetz store in September of last year.

Sales of beer and wine at the Franklin location began in mid-February, following renovations that added a required seating area, with seating for 30 people.

According to Public Relations Manager Nick Ruffner, all customers who buy beer/wine at Sheetz will be asked for identification, regardless of their age. Additionally, Sheetz employees who sell beer in Pennsylvania are required to complete RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) Training.
