Bernice E. Faller, 93, a former resident of Horn Road, Oil City, died early Friday morning, July 21, at Oakwood Heights.

Mrs. Faller had resided at Oakwood Heights for the past seven years.

Born July 13, 1924, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Joseph J. Jerko, Sr., and Susan Dinya Jerko.

Mrs. Faller was a 1942 graduate of Oil City High School. In her earlier years, she worked in her family’s business, Jerko Dairy Company. On November 11, 1946, she married Ralph A. Faller who preceded her in death on March 18, 1996. Mrs. Faller resided in several states during her husband’s 22 year career in the Marine Corps.

Mrs. Faller was a member of St. Stephen Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society and served on the Bereavement Committee.

Mrs. Faller, a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Richard Faller and his wife Julie of Brockway and four daughters: Kathleen Streczywilk, Mrs. David (Barbara Sue) Larkin, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Boyles, and Mrs. William (Elaine) Klapec, all of Oil City; and two sisters, Mrs. Jean Allison of Oil City and Ann and her husband Reverend Scott Shaffer of Greenville. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Raymond Faller of Franklin and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Gayle Faller of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Faller was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Jerko, Jr., a son-in-law, Joseph F. Streczywilk, and an infant daughter and two infant sons.

Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in St. Stephen’s Church with Msgr. Andrew Karg, Presiding.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorial be made to St. Stephen Church, Oakwood Heights, or a

charity of one’s choice.
