Beryl T. Snyder, 83, of Clarion, died Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, 2016 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Born June 15, 1933 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of Clair and Lillian Skinner Snyder. He was married April 26, 1957 to Imogene Reams. Beryl served in US Army- Military Police in the early 1950’s.

He moved to Clarion in 1960 where he owned and operated the Clarion Sunoco Service from 1960 to 1983. He was then employed by Seidle Chevrolet where he worked until his retirement in 2008.

Beryl was active for years in the Boy Scouts of America and the Clarion Little League. He attended the Clarion Alliance Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tom Snyder and his wife Sara of Cranberry Township, PA; Sandi Miller and her husband Dan of Imperial, PA, and son-in-law Gary Branscum and his wife Maggie of Cranberry Township, PA.

Beryl was a very proud father whose life revolved around the athletic, musical and academic accomplishments of his children. In later years, his six grandchildren were also a source of immense pride for him. He is survived by his grandchildren, Andy Branscum who is employed at Fanatics in Jacksonville, FL; Brian Branscum, a student at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana; Krista Snyder, a graduate of West Virginia University and a Project Manager Admin at BNY Mellon in Pittsburgh; Brad Snyder, a graduate of Penn State University and graduate student at Rice University in Houston, TX; Kyle Miller, a senior at West Allegheny High School in Imperial, PA; and Caleb Miller, a freshman at West Allegheny High School.

Beryl is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Huber of Punxsutawney, and Bertha Day of Florida, and a brother, Robert Snyder of New York.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Susan Snyder Branscum, and his parents.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.

According to Beryl’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.

Interment will be at the Pinewood Memorial Park in Cranberry Township, PA.
