Beulah Mae “Bood” Baltzer, age 93, of Knox, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, in Tipp City, Ohio.

Born April 2, 1924, in Venango County, she was a daughter of the late William Irvin Long and Harriet Rosella Master Long.

She graduated from the White Memorial School in Knox with the class of 1942 and continued her education at the Duff’s Iron City Business College.

Bood married R. Robert Baltzer on July 7, 1943, and he preceded her in death in 1985.

She worked at H.B. Beels Insurance in Knox for over 40 years and owned Baltzer’s Clothing Store in Knox for 20 years.

Bood was a member of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church, where she served as church elder, treasurer and a member of the board of directors.

She was active with “Once Upon a Christmas” and was a member of Charitable Deeds and Services; Knox Civic Club; Garden Club of Clarion County; Knox Golden Agers and the Knox Caring Cupboard.

Survivors include three daughters: Judith E. Carter of Peabody, Massachusetts; Barbara (Kim) Stormer and Cynthia (Alan Kolibas) Baltzer, all of Troy, Ohio.

Bood is also survived by four grandsons: Nick and Chris Carter and Seth and Ben Stormer; four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Jane Long and Marian Long Mentley.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced prior to service date.
