Beverly A. Hoffman, 80, a resident of 1220 Chestnut Street, Franklin, died peacefully at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, in her daughter Penny’s Rocky Grove home following a period of declining health. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 3, 1938 in Reno, a beloved daughter of the late James T. and Florence Miller Bickel.

Beverly had worked for a number of years until her retirement in the housekeeping department of the former Franklin Hospital and at Polk Center.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter.

Beverly was married to John C. Hoffman, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 18, 2007.

She is survived by her children, John Hoffman, Jr. and wife June Lynn of Franklin; Betty Deeter and husband Tim of Franklin; Terry Hoffman and wife Cindy of Stoneboro; Penny Rodgers and husband Jim of Rocky Grove; in addition to many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Also surviving are two sons-in-law, Kevin Heath and John Shook; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Melinda F. Heath, Tammy L. Shook and Lola M. Hoffman; a granddaughter, Raelynn Sharp; two sisters, Betty Kimes and Myrtle McKinley; four brothers, James, Harold, Dale and William Bickel; and by longtime family friend, Jim Poston.

Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Family and friends may also call Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. in The Fox Street Church of God, 229 Fox Street, Franklin, where funeral services will also be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Chad Troup, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens at Cranberry.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to her family to help defray funeral expenses.
