| December 1, 2018

Billy Joe Settlemire, formerly of Franklin, passed away on November 25, 2018.

Sunday Nov. 25, 2018 my sweet husband went to heaven. Now he’s not encumbered with his poor body riddled by Multiple Sclerosis. We are so happy that he’s out of pain and misery but he will be greatly missed. Billy was born March 24, 1953 in Franklin PA the only child of Billy Wallace and Arvilla Leota Wright Settlemire; who preceded him in death.

Billy attended Rocky Grove High School where he graduated in 1971. He then went to work at the glass plant in Oil City until he joined the Air Force on Aug. 1, 1972. He served during the Vietnam war working on the F-4 fighter jets.

He married Gulsans Lori Settlemire and had two children, Billy T Settlemire and Aysean Z Settlemire; they divorced in 1981.

After being honorably discharged on Nov. 1, 1978 at Hill Air Force Base UT he worked at Weber Communications, Ticaboo Mines then he hired on at Hill Air Force Base and went back to working on the F-4 fighter jets.

He married Mary M Settlemire Aug. 13, 1983. He raised my two children J’Taun Ziegler and Erik Ziegler. We have 4 grandchildren; Devan Martinez, Meaghan Long, Bryant Long and Braxton Ziegler. Also 2 great-grandchildren; Treagan and Julian Martinez and one on the way.

Billy Loved to play basketball and had an awesome vertical jump. He loved the Utah Jazz when Stockton and Malone played for them. What he liked the most was fishing; mostly bass fishing. He belonged to Northern Utah Bass Anglers, a local bass club and was part of the Utah Bass Federation. He fished local, state and professional bass tournaments. He fished the professional circuits with BASS, US BASS, WON BASS and REDMAN. He fished all over the west. He helped set up bass club in Pocatello Idaho also High Country in Ogden.

Billy was incredibly smart, quick witted, funny and positive minded. He was mostly in good spirits even though he had Multiple Sclerosis taking away his body from him and was in a lot of pain.

He became member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2011 and was sealed to Mary M Settlemire in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity in Aug 2012.
