Blanche Reck, 86, of Meadow Lands, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 27, 2012, in her home.

She was born March 10, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Polewski Brezinski.

Mrs. Reck lived in Meadow Lands for the past 65 years, where she was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. She had been a 50-year member of the Christian Mothers and Guild.

She attended St. Genevieve Church school in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Reck was a homemaker who enjoyed bingo, playing cards and the slots.

She was a member of KSKJ and Polish Alliance and was a member and past president of Chartiers Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Reck will always be remembered for her wittiness and sense of humor.

On June 21, 1947, she married Louis Reck, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Louis (Pam) Reck of Charlottesville, Va., and Chester (Michele) Reck of Oil City; three grandchildren, McKenzie, Jessica and Travis; a great-granddaughter, Macy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are a brother, Chester “Chippy” Brezinski, and a sister, Martha Brezinski.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 30. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, November 30, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. The Christian Mothers and Guild of Miraculous Medal Church will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to Christian Mothers and Guild.
