Do you believe in Spirits? Séances? Ghosts? Things that go bump in the night? If so, you do not want to miss the upcoming production of Noel Coward’s improbable farce, Blithe Spirit, at the Barrow-Civic Theatre.

While researching his next book, author, Charles Condomine (played by Stephen Teig), arranges for medium, Madame Arcati (played by Judy Millar), to hold a séance in his home. His wife, Ruth Condomine (played by Barrow-newcomer, Pamela Watkins), is skeptical but looking forward to an enjoyable evening. Rounding out the cast are Dr. Bradman (played by another Barrow-newcomer, Michael Gorman), his wife, Mrs. Bradman (played by Sallie Richards-Bartram), and Edward, the Butler (played by Aaron Ritisg).

All is proceeding as expected until, quite unexpectedly, Charles’ deceased wife, Elvira (played by Brooke Lawrie), makes a ghostly appearance. Unfortunately for Charles, he is the only one who can see and hear her. As you may expect, Elvira causes an array of problems for Charles and Ruth.

When Charles reaches the end of his rope, he calls on Madame Arcati to return Elvira to the afterlife. Multiple spells, séances, and trances all prove unsuccessful, until the key to success is discovered.
