FOXBURG, Pa. (EYT) — A-C Valley School District is closed today due to a boil water warning issued in the Foxburg area on Thursday.

According to Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority Secretary Gwen Atwood, the boil water advisory was issued after the discovery of a leak on Thursday.

Atwood said the Authority has found the leak and are working to repair it.

“Hopefully by tomorrow everything will be back in working order, but we can’t say for certain,” Atwood said. “The DEP has the final say on the water.”

A-C Valley School District canceled classes early Thursday after the boil water advisory was issued, and canceled classes again today when the problem was still unresolved.

All weekend activities at the school have also been canceled.

A-C Valley/Union’s football team will still its game tonight vs. Sheffield at Union, and the volleyball tournament scheduled to take place at the school on Saturday will now be held at Redbank Valley High School.
