Bomb Threat Note Leads to Evacuation of Clarion Area Elementary

clarion elementary bomb threatCLARION, Pa. (EYT) — A bomb threat at Clarion Area Elementary School forced the evacuation of students to the high school Monday morning.

Clarion Borough Police Chief Bill Peck says the school was evacuated after a threatening note was discovered around 10:30 a.m.

A response dog used to detect explosive devices was brought in from Clearfield to help search the school, according to Peck.

Authorities did not find any explosive devices or other legitimate threats within the school.

Students were allowed to return to the school around 12:45 p.m.

Boundary Street was closed as a result of the threat, but is now open.

Clarion-based State Police also responded to the scene.

Chief Peck says the incident remains under investigation.
