Boys’ Basketball Recaps: Franklin Cruises to Win; Oil City Falls on Last-Second Shot

FRANKLIN 75, SLIPPERY ROCK 32

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Preston Morgan netted a game-high 21 points, as visiting Franklin cruised past Slippery Rock, 75-32.

Ryan Greggs added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Knights, who also got 13 points, six rebounds and five assists from Kyle Russell. Geoff Spaid chipped in four points and eight rebounds, while Alex Huff had four points, five rebounds and five assists. In all, nine different Franklin players scored.

Ryan Dutton paced Slippery Rock with nine points.

SHARON 51, OIL CITY 50

OIL CITY, Pa. — Daunell Stovall hit a shot with 1.5 seconds left to finish off a frantic comeback by Sharon, as the visiting Tigers beat Oil City, 51-50.

Oil City led by six with 1:08 to play but a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute by Marquez Phillips helped bring Sharon back into the game.

Stovall finished with a game-high 26 points for the Tigers with Phillips adding 13 points.

Jackson McFall led Oil City with 22 points with Tyler Lukasiak adding 10.
