Authorities ID Man Found Dead at Clarion County Crash Scene

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Authorities in Clarion County have released the identity of a man found dead at the scene of an accident early Thursday morning in Highland Township, Clarion County.

According to Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Jeffrey Jonovich, of Ford City.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and an autopsy is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today at the Erie County Coroner’s Office.

According to the Clarion County 9-1-1, the call came in at 2:49 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, for a report of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Millcreek Road and Miola Road in Highland Township, Clarion County.

Clarion-based State Police, Clarion Hospital EMS, Clarion Fire and Hose Company No. 1 were dispatched to the scene.

A short time later, Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom was also called to the scene.

According to Stom, Jonovich was found in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at 3:40 a.m.

No further information has been released regarding details of the crash or other possible persons involved.

The incident remains under investigation by the Clarion County Coroner’s Office and Clarion-based State Police.
