Knox Man Killed After Vehicle Crashes into Tree

SALEM TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State Police say a fatal accident occurred Friday morning on Route 208 in Salem Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 6:25 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 22-year-old Russell Bishop, of Knox, was driving south on State Route 208 approximately one-half mile south of Brick Church Road.

For unknown reasons, Bishop crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lane and then exited off the east side of the roadway.

Bishop’s vehicle sideswiped a tree and continued traveling south. The vehicle then impacted a second tree head-on and came to a final rest.

Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene by Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom.

Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department, Saint Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department, Knox Ambulance, and Hovis Towing assisted at the scene.
