BREAKING NEWS: Crash Involving Multiple Tractor Trailers Shuts Down Interstate 80

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A multi-vehicle accident has shut down a portion of Interstate 80 in Clarion County.

A representative with Clarion-based State Police told exploreClarion.com that the accident happened on Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 58.4.

The representative said multiple tractor-trailers were involved in the crash.

Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 and Clarion Hospital EMS have been dispatched to the scene.

Around 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, emergency officials shut down Interstate 80 westbound between Exit 53 (Knox) and Exit 60 (Shippenville). It remained closed as of 2:25 a.m.

The roadway is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

Shippenville-Elk VFD and Knox VFD have been called for traffic control.
